When I said the Tigers were going to be one of the stories in the AL Central, I didn’t mean like this.
But here’s the thing about Detroit’s ineptitude in the early going: Nobody know how or why this is happening. The hitters are powerhouse hitters, they’re just not getting bat to ball. The starting pitching wasn’t supposed to fall off like this, but they have. The bullpen… well, they are who we thought they were, and coming out of spring training, we let them off the hook. Still, there’s no reason why this team is 2-10.
Jim Leyland finally flipped his noodle yesterday, and maybe that’ll light a fire under them for a short while. But they’ve got a long way to go. Honestly, what do you say if the team suddenly rolls off a 10-2 stretch? Congrats, they’re at .500, which would put them above… well, the Indians.
Why do we even try to prognosticate in the preseason?

Don’t worry. They’ve still got like 500 more games this season to get back into the swing of things.
